Employment

Pay and entitlement

Every employee has certain basic rights at work. These are called statutory rights and they are laid down by law.

Many of our statutory employment rights relate to pay.

Disputes and dismissals

You and your employer should always try to resolve disputes within the workplace if at all possible.

Sometimes people find themselves dismissed from a job following a dispute, or with no warning at all. A dismissal may be unfair depending on the circumstances.

Contracts of employment

When you take a job you should receive a statement of the terms and conditions of your employment. You or your employer may want to change them at some point.

Under 18s

Some aspects of employment law are different for under 18s.
