Course outline
This course is designed for those are new to the area of discrimination in employment or want to refresh you understanding of recent changes. This course will allow you to understand the complexities of contemporary discrimination law and how employers should deal with discriminatory issues in the workplace.

We have identified the key concepts in discrimination law and a structure that allows participants to understand and confidently apply these concepts to the workplace. This course aims to be an essential grounding in the law and practice of discrimination.
The course will deal with:
- the groups protected from unlawful discrimination
- the definitions and types of discrimination that arise
- discrimination danger zones – recruitment – promotion – benefits – dress codes – sickness – harassment – dismissals
- flexible working and discrimination
- steps employers should take to prevent discrimination at work
- risks and liabilities arising from unlawful discrimination
