Course outline

This new course will focus on the range of benefits and incentives available to people and their partners moving into full and part time work.

Learning objectives

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • explain the permitted work rules
  • carry out 'better off calculations'
  • identify potential entitlement to tax credits, housing benefit and council tax benefit
  • describe what is meant by 'the poverty trap'
