Citizens Advice

The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.

Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity reliant on trained volunteers and funds to provide these vital services for local communities.

  • Most bureaux provide advice by phone and some also provide email advice. To find the phone number for your local bureau see Find a CAB
  • Volunteer advisers give information and advice to clients on a very wide range of queries and problems. They also provide practical help, for example, by writing letters, making phone calls or negotiating on clients' behalf, representing clients at tribunals and carrying out specialist casework.
