Commissioning public services

Are you a commissioner tasked with commissioning public services?

Are you struggling to ensure that the Civil Society Sector and local communities are involved in the design of services?

Are you aware of the flexibilities within the EU Directives for Part B contracts?

As a commissioner you may find it difficult to design an effective process for letting contracts, given that the Coalition Government’s recent Green Paper 'Modernising Commissioning' has indicated a need to ensure more Civil Society organisations deliver public services.

Citizens Advice may be able to offer you support as you move to a commissioning and procurement model. We have a small team of specialists who have been working with local Citizens Advice Bureaux over the past 18 months to enable them to bid effectively for advice service contracts. To date the team's support has resulted in 100% of winning bids for the bureaux we have supported.

Our knowledge of the commissioning and tendering processes and the requirements of the Public Contract Regulations means that we are ideally placed to support commissioners in the development and design of public service tender processes.

Our rates are competitive and we are based throughout England and Wales. Our support can be face to face or via email or telephone.

We have a range of support which can commence at as little as £300 (plus VAT and expenses) for three hours of support.  This could be:
