Essential employment law
Course outline
This course provides an idea introduction to the subject of employment law and practice giving new or developing advisers the fundamental areas of knowledge in the subject. It covers the main legal rights of the subject and looks at the key areas where they apply in starting work, sickness and performance management through to redundancy and dismissal.
Learning objectives
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- explain the basis of legal rights in the workplace
- identify the main rights that apply in workplace situations
- describe how unlawful discrimination arises in the workplace
- explain the options and processes for resolving workplace problems and enforcing rights
