Redundancy and reorganisation
Course outline
In the current economic climate many businesses are having to make stark choices about the numbers of staff they employ. This course examines how workers can enforce legal rights when affected, and presents practical ways of ensuring fairness when streamlining or reorganising occurs.
Learning objectives
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- identify redundancy and assess the fairness or otherwise of a redundancy dismissal
- help an employee consider options when an employer proposes to reduce pay or other entitlements
- guide a client through lay-off and short-time working procedures
- identify rights when an employer becomes insolvent or in a TUPE situation
