Course outline

This course is specifically for those who are not trained debt advisers but who work with people in debt. It is intended as an awareness-raising course, with a focus on understanding the debt advice process and recognising when to make a referral. It will also offer a brief overview of the main priority debts. This course can be tailored for delivery in-house to focus on either priority debts or financial statements.

explain the incidence, causes and effects of debt
describe the service provided by specialist money advisers
differentiate between priority and non-priority debts
describe some of the help available for clients with debts
