Debt advice for non-debt advisers
Course outline
This course is specifically for those who are not trained debt advisers but who work with people in debt. It is intended as an awareness-raising course, with a focus on understanding the debt advice process and recognising when to make a referral. It will also offer a brief overview of the main priority debts. This course can be tailored for delivery in-house to focus on either priority debts or financial statements.
Learning objectives
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- explain the incidence, causes and effects of debt
- describe the service provided by specialist money advisers
- differentiate between priority and non-priority debts
- describe some of the help available for clients with debts
