Welfare reform for non-benefit advisers
Course outline
This half-day seminar is designed to provide an overview of the main changes to social security entitlements coming into effect under the Welfare Reform Act. It is suitable for those with a basic knowledge of the current benefits system who require a general overview of what the changes are and how benefit claimants will be affected.
Learning objectives
By the end of this course you will be able to:
- explain the provisions of the Welfare Reform Act
- recognise how universal credit is expected to work
- describe the key aspects of personal independence payment
- explain how and when benefit entitlements are likely to change
