Course outline
Increase your confidence in helping clients and disputing capability for work decisions! This practical course looks in detail at the Work Capability Assessment (WCA) for employment and support allowance (ESA). The course is aimed at advisers who have a working knowledge of ESA and who may be helping to challenge decisions or represent before appeal tribunals. It looks in detail at the developing case law around interpretation of the WCA descriptors, changes to WCA itself, guidance and tactics.

By the end of this course you will be able to:
- explain how the WCA descriptors are applied
- use case law to help interpret the medical tests
- relate health problems to the descriptors
- challenge decisions on capability for work
