Give us a break - holiday pay entitlement

Have you been denied paid holiday? Or have you been denied owed holiday pay upon the termination of your employment.

If so, you are not alone: tens of thousands of people seek advice from a CAB every year on this issue.

Citizens Advice is campaigning for a Fair Employment Agency to protect workers and target rogue employers. We want you to help us by telling us your experiences because it will help us make a stronger case.

Guidance on sending a letter to your MP

This letter is designed to be a template for you to use and change to fit your personal story:

There is suggested text in black, but there are also prompts and suggestions for you contained within brackets to help you explain your personal situation. The brackets and text bold should be removed before sending the letter.

Fill in as much detail as you can, but feel free to change the letter to suit you.

Your MP should send an acknowledgement of having received your letter, and they may agree to take some action on your behalf. This is not guaranteed and will depend on your MP and their interests and responsibilities.

To find your MP

You can find out who your MP is and the best way of contacting (email, constituency office or the Houses of Parliament) them via the parliament website at either of the following websites:

If you do send a letter to your MP it would be very helpful if you sent us a copy of your letter and any response you receive to the campaigns team.
