Justice for All
We are campaigning for free legal advice - because your rights matter.
Many people will be cut off from the help they need as multiple funding streams to Citizens Advice Bureaux, Law Centres and other independent advice agencies are being cut at the same time. Over half a million people will lose out on advice through cuts to legal aid alone, and local authority support is also under threat in many areas.
Citizens Advice is playing a leading role in Justice for All, the campaign to ensure everyone is treated fairly under the law. Thousands have already joined the Justice for All campaign - including leading charities, advice and legal organisations, trade unions, community groups, politicians and members of the public. Why don't you?

Lords help us
Join the virtual House of Lords to show peers that many people oppose the plans to completely remove legal aid for advice on welfare benefits - which provides a vital lifeline for 78 000 disabled people every year. Citizens Advice is supporting the Scope and Justice for All campaign 'Lords help us'.

Pair up with a peer
Dozens of Citizens Advice bureaux staff, volunteers and supporters are taking part in Justice for All's 'pair up with a peer' scheme, which matches campaigners with a member of the House of Lords with similar interests over the months when the changes to legal aid are considered in the House of Lords.

Past activity
Justice for All campaigners, including many CAB, have taken part in a number of actions for Justice for All - including writing letters, running local petitions, submitting evidence, attending rallies and marches and even dressing up as Action Heroes for Justice.
Local campaigns
Citizens Advice bureaux have worked with other local agencies to raise awareness of the impact that cuts to legal aid and advice will have on their communities. Some have gathered signatures on petitions, supported people helped by free advice to speak up or been interviewed themselves in the local media, met with local councillors and MPs.
Some local authorities have chosen to pass motions supporting free legal advice:
Day of Action - 3 June 2011
