Calling all oil clubs and other community buying schemes

Applications are now open for a new £60,000 prize fund for consumer community buying initiatives. The Buy Better Together Challenge is a joint initiative by BIS and Co-operatives UK set up to inspire new models of community buying, stimulate enterprise and promote shared learning.

The £60,000 pot will go towards training and mentoring for stand out projects, and includes £15k for the overall winner. If you are involved in, or know of, an exciting project - perhaps an oil club or syndicate - please visit www.bis.gov.uk/buying.

You can also join the conversation on Twitter by using #communitybuy. If you would like to speak to somebody in more detail about the Challenge, please call the helpline number - 0207 215 6570.
