SSE mis-selling outrageous

Citizens Advice responds to SSE’s £10.5 million fine from Ofgem for mis-selling.

Citizens Advice Chief Executive Gillian Guy said:

“It is outrageous that SSE customers were misled by staff including being switched onto more expensive deals when they expected to save money.

“At a time when budgets are tight and every penny counts people need to know they can rely on businesses to be honest with them in order to get the best deal.

“It’s right that Ofgem has imposed such a serious fine. We urge anyone who thinks they have been mis-sold an energy contract by SSE to claim their money back through its compensation fund.”

If you think you have been mis-sold an energy contract by SSE you can call the fund’s dedicated line on 0845 0707 388.
