Introduction
The last few years have seen a continued increase in the number of people whose lives are blighted by debt. Record numbers of people obtained personal insolvency in 2010, and there has been a sustained rise in the demand for debt advice services.
As the UK's largest advice provider, the Citizens Advice service delivers a range of money advice services. This publication provides an overview of these services, and looks at the work of Citizens Advice in:
- providing debt advice and financial guidance
- financial capability training and education
- lobbying and campaigning for legislative changes to improve the policies that contribute to people's debt problems.
