The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.

Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity reliant on trained volunteers and funds to provide these vital services for local communities.

Our aims

The Citizens Advice service aims:
to ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express their needs effectively and equally:
to exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services both locally and nationally.

Working together, Citizens Advice and bureaux will:
make our services more accessible
provide a quality service
represent our clients’ interests
raise our profile
obtain the human and financial resources we need to achieve these goals.

Citizens Advice is the operating name of The National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux.
