The Citizens Advice service 2004/2005 |
The Citizens Advice service has 475 member bureaux in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. All are independent registered charities. The service was run by 27,621* people of which 76% are volunteers. We have 20,874* volunteers in the service: CAB information and advice was regularly delivered from nearly 3,400* locations, including 1,246* health locations, 483* schools and colleges, 218* prisons or courts, and 206* community venues such as libraries and shopping centres. Advice was available for 1,876,104* hours during 2004/05 in bureaux, in the community, and by phone. Our advisers provided over 9.6 million hours of advice. Our advice website, www.adviceguide.org.uk, received nearly 2.4 million visits, a 44% increase on the previous year.
