Examples of recent partnerships with companies are given below.
Barclays - increasing access to free money advice
A long-term partner, Barclays, was interested in helping people get out of debt. The Citizens Advice service, as the largest free money advice service in the UK, was a perfect partner.
Barclays is supporting a second tier service of specialist telephone support for money advisers.
Although we have made good progress in obtaining the bulk of the funding necessary to make a start on the project, increasing debt levels, means there is an urgent need for term funding to meet anticipated deficits in the coming years.
Nationwide - MoneyActive
MoneyActive is a financial capability partnership between Nationwide Building Society and Citizens Advice. It is three year project worth £3 million, which started in 2009 and is funding the recruitment and training of 1,300 volunteers, delivering financial education within communities across the UK and an online money management resource on www.adviceguide.org.uk
Prudential plc - improving financial skills
Prudential shares our vision of helping people develop their financial skills so that they are better equipped to avoid financial crisis. They have been our key partner in the Financial Skills for Life programme since 2002.
With Prudential’s full encouragement, we have already secured the support of other significant funders for our financial skills work.
