There are many ways you can support us.
"At one time it looked as though we might have to make massive cuts, or even close. The money raised by the sponsored swim has helped enormously. It is literally the difference between finishing the year in the black and not in the red" High Peak CAB
10 top fundraising event tips
Each Citizens Advice Bureau is an independent charity that needs to raise funds so get in touch with your local CAB with your fundraising idea at the beginning. They may have an established fundraising group or access to contacts who can help you get your idea off the ground.
- Make the most of your contacts in the community.
- Get as many people involved as possible.
- Try to form a fundraising committee so that you can share the load.
- Be business-minded; make sure your activity is cost-effective in terms of time spent and funds raised.
- Remember that the PR benefit of fundraising is just as important as the actual income raised.
- Try to piggyback onto another organisation’s event; it can be a good way to lessen the time spent organising.
- Be sure to start the planning early, things often take longer than you think they will.
- Contact your local Rotary club and see if they can help.
- Link up with another charity to widen the appeal of your activity.
- Make your fundraising fun!
