The Citizens Advice service offers practical, up-to-date information and advice on a wide range of topics, including; debt, benefits, housing, legal, discrimination, employment, immigration, consumer and other problems.

Our advice is available to everyone regardless of race, gender, sexuality, age, nationality, disability or religion.

About us

Redcar and Cleveland Citizens Advice Bureau covers a wide area with different needs. Open door sessions are held twice weekly at the towns of Redcar and Guisborough and weekly at South Bank. Sessions are also held at Loftus and Skelton.

The bureau has 16 paid staff and 29 volunteers dealing with a range of debt and benefit advice projects.

Telephone advice is available subject to staff availability.

Volunteer

The majority of advisers are trained volunteers, helping the Citizens Advice service to resolve over seven million new problems every year.

We couldn’t survive without our 21,500 fantastic volunteers, but we need around 5,000 more. We’re looking for all sorts of people with different backgrounds and skills to volunteer with us for a uniquely rewarding experience.

There are 382 Citizens Advice Bureaux across England and Wales, all of which are members of Citizens Advice.

Together, we are the Citizens Advice service, and we help people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice, and by influencing policymakers.
