Digital money coaching

Supporting clients improve their digital skills

This section of the resource library was originally created during the 2015-16 Digital Money Coach pilot project developed by Citizens Advice. This model was piloted through five local Citizens Advice offices, who were closely involved with its development. The learning we gained from this pilot has informed this resource suite, and is summarised in this report [ 430 kb]

Since then, the resources suitable for the 'DMC' role have been substantially expanded and updated; each section is a module of activities and resources that are designed to increase the complexity of a clients skills as they progress through them. We currently have eight sections, and they group various resources about digital technology into eight broad themes.

The resources have been developed and structured to help clients do the following:

  • choose one of eight areas of interest
  • meet small, achievable goals
  • learn key digital skills that are transferable for other digital tasks
  • learn small key skills that will in turn underpin more complicated activities
  • learn to use lots of small key transferable skills in different settings
  • eventually become comfortable completing more complicated activities to achieve more complex goals
