National Consumer Week
National Consumer Week is an annual campaign which aims to raise people's awareness of specific consumer issues, and provide support and advice for those who need it. This year it will take place late November (dates TBC).
We’ll be encouraging people to “be wise to being green”. It’s important that we take steps to be more environmentally friendly, like making our homes more energy efficient and installing energy technologies like solar panels. It can save money in the long run, and it’s good for the environment. It’s also an important part of how we can meet our UK climate change target.
But it’s also important that people feel confident when they’re making these decisions.
That’s why we’re raising awareness of how people can protect themselves from misleading energy efficiency and environmental claims, such as “green scams” and rogue traders. With our advice and support consumers can arm themselves with the knowledge and confidence they need to make the best decisions.
Resources for campaigners
We're creating a set of materials that will help you give consumers the knowledge they need to confidently make decisions about making their lives and homes more energy efficient.
This will include a campaign briefing, poster and leaflets, a social media pack and more. They will be available a few weeks before the campaign launch.

Citizens Advice runs National Consumer Week in close collaboration with the Consumer Protection Partnership. This brings together key partners in the consumer landscape to identify, prioritise and coordinate collective action to tackle detriment.
Partners include the Trading Standards service and the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).
