Citizens​ ​Advice response​ ​to proposals regarding setting standards for smart appliances

Citizens Advice welcomes the government’s consultation proposing standards for smart appliances.

Smart appliances could offer tangible benefits for consumers, making them better able to respond to price signals through time of use (ToU) tariffs. But, if delivered poorly, they can carry significant risks to consumers’ security or privacy. Therefore, we are supportive of the actions taken thus far to minimise these risks.
