Response to Ofgem's consultation on reviewing the potential impact of increased wholesale volatility on the default tariff cap

Ofgem was consulting on whether it should increase the energy price cap in future periods to make greater allowance for the potential impacts of wholesale price volatility. We expressed concerns about the speculative nature of its evidence base, given the certainty that further increasing bills would cause consumer harm.
