South Lakes Citizens Advice is an established local independent charity that provides free, impartial and confidential advice. It also undertakes research and campaign work to influence policy makers and to effect change. We provide a quality advice and information service via Adviceline, email and face to face across the whole South Lakeland district.

We are pleased to offer you an exciting opportunity to join our management team. You will be a key member of the core team within South Lakes Citizens Advice and will be instrumental in shaping our new service to bring about change and to ensure we can meet future demands.

The role offers the opportunity to develop policies and procedures and to lead on new initiatives. You will have responsibility for the quality of advice and the day to day operational management, including the volunteer advice team and paid caseworkers to ensure the advice we give to clients is of a high standard and meets Citizens Advice membership requirements.

Job Title: Advice Services Manager Location:

Based at our Ulverston site and working at various locations across South Lakeland. Hours: 22.5 hours per week.Normal working day 9am to 5pm but could be required to work some evenings or Saturdays. It is anticipated that the hours will increase to 30 hours per week from the New Year.

Salary: £23,458 FTE (£14,075 actual) plus 3% pension contribution.

Type of contract: This is a permanent post.

You will need to demonstrate • The ability to work within the aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service. • Experience of motivating, leading and supervising a team of volunteers. • Experience of delivering an advice service. • Excellent communication skills. • Proven experience in Money Advice/Welfare Benefits advice to caseworker level.

The successful candidate for the above position will need to be highly motivated with a proactive and flexible approach to service delivery.
