Citizens Advice helps thousands of people with employment issues each year. Millions more access our employment advice online. We therefore have a detailed understanding of how the labour market is changing and the consequences for other aspects of workers’ lives.
Our work policy research covers both employment and self-employment. It looks at the increasing diversity of working arrangements and how this is affecting pay, work-life balance and redress when things go wrong. It is vital that employment policy responds to these shifts. We are examining both short and long-term policy solutions to make sure that employment offers genuine security for individuals and families.
