Pension guidance can “bridge gap” between working and retiring

20 Gorffennaf 2014

Citizens Advice has today said the Treasury has rightly recognised the need for independent and impartial advice as part of the pensions guidance guarantee.

Chief Executive of Citizens Advice, Gillian Guy, said:

“The right advice can safely bridge the gap between a lifetime’s work and a happy retirement. The Treasury has taken important steps with the Guidance Guarantee to ensure that people will have impartial help making the right choice for their pensions.

“We know all too well how crucial it is that people can get advice in a way that suits them as individuals. With people facing increasingly complex and personal choices at retirement many would like to sit down with someone they trust to talk through their options. As a trusted, independent charity that people know they can turn to Citizens Advice is keen and able to play a role giving people the guidance they need, whether that be online, over the phone or face-to-face.”
