Am y rôl

Citizens Advice New Forest (CANF) has an exciting opportunity for a debt adviser to join its Hampshire-wide Debt Advice project. The role will support vulnerable clients living across Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport & Fareham who are struggling to manage their debt and will be part of a team of advisers covering the whole county. This project, which is funded through the National Lottery, has been created to meet the increasing demand for debt advice as people deal with the cost-of-living crisis, with the objectives of improving both their debt situation and their mental well-being.

We are looking for candidates who are:

· Passionate about helping vulnerable people living on low incomes;

· A good listener, able to understand an individual’s needs and come up with solutions that will help them get to grips with their finances;

· A great communicator, full of empathy and able to work with people struggling with their mental health;

· An adaptable person, able to change their communication style to get the best from their clients;

· A self-starter with a can-do attitude.

There will be a salary review upon successful completion of probation.

Please note that this role will require extensive travel between offices in Portsmouth, Havant, Gosport & Fareham and therefore would suit someone living in this area of Hampshire.

Please refer to the full Job Pack on our website https://www.newforestcab.org.uk/about-us/jobs/, which contains a detailed role profile and person specification.

Candidates are required to submit a CV along with a cover letter (no more than 500 words) to jobs@canf.uk that details how their skills and experiences meet the essential criteria and person specification.

Closing Date: Friday 27th March 2026 (applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis).
