Position: Debt Support Officer (Debt Relief Order)
Responsible to: DRO Team Lead
Salary: National Living Wage (rising to £25,782 after 6 months)
Hours of work: 37 hours
Place of work: Stockton-on-Tees

The Debt Relief Order Hub have helped clients find a financial solution for over £22m of personal indebtedness. This has proved life changing for some of society’s most vulnerable families and individuals.
Your Impact:
As a Debt Support Officer, you'll be the backbone of Debt Relief Order Hub. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting clients and case workers alike, ensuring our service runs smoothly and effectively.
What you will do:
• Providing friendly, professional administrative support to Debt Caseworkers.
• Being a first point of contact for clients via phone, webchat, email, and in-person.
• Managing appointments, reminders, digital signatures, and SMS communications.
• Helping clients gather key financial information and complete budgets using our debt assessment tools.
• Liaising with creditors, utility companies, and local authorities to collect and process information.
• Maintaining accurate records using internal case management systems (e.g., Casebook).
• Assisting with reporting, document submissions, and other key projects.
• Taking part in the Adviser Learning Programme with the opportunity to gain full accreditation in debt advice.
What we are looking for
We want someone who is organised, people-focused, and motivated by making a real impact.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook 365, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Accuracy and attention to detail in administration.
• Team player with a positive attitude and professional boundaries.
• Willingness to learn and take part in ongoing training and development.
Desirable (but not essential):
• Previous experience supporting debt caseworkers or in a similar environment.
• Experience working with statistical data and/or project administration.
