Am y rôl
Are you great at supporting people, helping them build confidence, and bringing out the best in a team? We’re looking for an Advice Service Supervisor to support our paid staff and volunteers as we deliver vital, high-quality advice across our local community.
About Citizens Advice 1066
We’re an independent local charity supporting people across Hastings, Bexhill, and Rother. We offer free, confidential, and impartial advice to help people find a way forward, whatever problems they’re facing.
About the Role
As Advice Service Supervisor, you’ll work closely with our Operations Manager to guide, coach, and support our team of volunteer and paid advisers. You’ll help maintain a supportive environment where advisers feel confident to learn and grow, ensuring our clients always receive an excellent standard of service.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting our team: Providing day-to-day guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback to advisers.
Supervising service delivery: Helping allocate work, managing session workloads, and offering support with complex or challenging client situations.
Quality assurance: Reviewing case records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and high standards across all channels.
Service development: Sharing best practices, supporting inductions, and helping create an inclusive, collaborative culture.
Who We’re Looking For
You do not need previous Citizens Advice supervisory experience to apply. Great supervisors come from all kinds of backgrounds. If you have experience coaching, mentoring, training, or supporting people—whether through paid work, volunteering, community groups, housing, health, or customer service—we’d love to hear from you. Full technical training and support will be provided.
Essential skills and experience:
Experience in supporting, coaching, mentoring, or coordinating others.
Great communication skills and a supportive, constructive approach to giving feedback.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities calmly under pressure.
A clear commitment to equality, diversity, confidentiality, and the values of Citizens Advice.
What We Offer
Generous leave: 31 days paid holiday (including statutory bank holidays) for 37 hours per week, rising to 32 days after 3 years and 33 days after 4 years (pro-rata for part-time).
Flexible working support: A Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) system.
Pension: 3% employer contribution pension scheme.
Wellbeing support: 24/7 confidential mental health and wellbeing support service.
Growth: Dedicated support for your personal and professional development.
