Am y rôl
Kirklees Citizens Advice and Law Centre (KCALC) is looking to appoint a Trainee Solicitor under the prestigious Justice First Fellowship (JFF) programme. It is essential that candidates have completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or have an undergraduate degree or other Level 6 qualification and have completed the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) Part 1.
Applications will not be considered unless candidates can demonstrate that they meet this requirement.
Areas of law covered will relate to social welfare law but will likely have a strong focus on Housing Law (there is an option for focus on Immigration/Asylum where a candidate is already accredited to undertake casework).
JFF is a two-year, fully funded legal training programme for aspiring social justice lawyers. Run by Legal Education Foundation (LEF), JFF has supported 170 fellows since 2014, with most continuing to work in social justice law.
As a fellow at Kirklees Citizens Advice and Law Centre, you will complete your legal training with us. We will cover the cost of any required training and you will also work with us to develop a project that supports our mission. Through JFF you will receive additional training, wellbeing support and join a growing network of lawyers using the law to drive social change.
You will join a team and an organisation whose aim is to help vulnerable clients find a way forward whatever problems they face. KCALC is passionate about making a real difference in our community, working together with empathy, integrity and a shared commitment to social justice.
