Am y rôl

Citizens Advice in West Sussex supports volunteers and staff to deliver high‑quality advice for people seeking help with issues such as employment, debt, benefits, housing and immigration. High‑quality advice changes lives, and this role plays a vital part in supporting volunteers as they navigate complex problems.

Role overview:

You will supervise advice sessions in our Mid Sussex offices, including reception, and support volunteers to provide high‑quality advice across multiple channels so clients receive help when they need it. You’ll allocate resources daily across advice channels, ensuring quality remains a priority.

Key duties include: leading with our values and embedding Equity, Diversity and Inclusion; supervising volunteer advice teams; keeping resources and client databases updated; overseeing appointments, phones and other channels; monitoring advice quality; meeting service targets; managing outreach sessions and referrals; improving service standards; ensuring timely and accurate data; and providing advice or casework when required.

Staff and volunteer supervision:

You will support staff and volunteers through feedback, supervisions and annual appraisals, carry out quality checks, assist with recruitment and training, run daily briefings, and deputise for the manager.

Professional development & organisational support:

You’ll maintain your own development, identify team training needs, support research and campaigns, uphold EDI, assist with fundraising, maintain admin systems, ensure health and safety compliance, and manage complaints, GDPR and safeguarding matters.

Trainees will be considered. Rate of pay will vary depending on experience (£29k FTE is for experienced supervisor).
