Advicelink Cymru

Advicelink Cymru is a Welsh Government funded Citizens Advice service designed to help people who are most in need of advice services, particularly those who would not usually seek advice.

In 2020,  Advicelink Cymru helped almost 62,000 people with over 264,000 problems.  In total, more than 9 in 10 clients reported that the service helped them find a way forward and more than 9 in 10 would recommend the service to other people.

Advicelink Cymru offers quality assured advice on welfare benefits, debt, employment, education, housing, immigration and discrimination. The service aims to help people access the right advice, at the right time and make it easier for them to access services again if they need further help—whether that’s about the same issue or something new.

The Advicelink Cymru service aims to:

  • Reach out to clients proactively, often through partners, to get advice service interventions to those most in need of them before they are in crisis

  • Work seamlessly so the client’s journey is as simple as possible

  • Provide regionally based services with national consistency

  • Deliver quality-assured advice with wraparound support for clients from partners. Partner support could be practical, emotional, clinical or social

Partnership approach

Advicelink Cymru is managed by Citizens Advice Cymru. Funding is sub-granted to individual local Citizens Advice offices and a broad range of local and national partners, who deliver advice services.

As well as advice partners our access partners are experts in engaging specific groups and communities across Wales. They help us reach the people who need our services most and provide wraparound emotional, clinical and social support services.

Further information

With our network of advice partners, we’ll try out new ways to reach people who haven't accessed advice before or have specific advice needs, and we’ll learn as we go. We're gradually engaging new partners over time and we'll update this page as new organisations come on board.
