Response to Ofgem consultation on extending the Market Stabilisation Charge (MSC) and the Ban on Acquisition Tariffs (BAT)
Ofgem was consulting on whether to extend the Market Stabilisation Charge (MSC) and the Ban on Acquisition Tariffs (BAT) for a further year, and taking powers to extend both measures in future. We expressed support for extending the BAT but reservations on extending the MSC. We suggested Ofgem should be clearer on the conditions that would result in future extensions to the MSC, and should not take powers to extend it indefinitely.
