About the role
Citizens Advice Oxfordshire, in partnership with The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), is seeking a Debt Caseworker to join our supportive and welcoming team.
In this role you will provide crucial support to individuals facing complex financial challenges. Your primary focus will be on offering regulated debt advice and support to clients who are struggling with, or are at risk of, accumulating debt.
You will be responsible for a varied caseload, including negotiating with creditors on behalf of clients regarding a wide range of issues such as council tax, rent/mortgage arrears, utility debt, credit cards, insolvency, and bailiffs. The role also includes conducting comprehensive benefits checks to ensure clients are receiving their full income entitlements.
We are looking for an experienced Debt Caseworker, but we also welcome applications from advisers who are motivated to train and develop into this specialist area. We offer full training to support this professional growth.
The role offers flexibility and can be home or office-based, with some local travel required for client meetings. A fully remote position may be an option for the right candidate. We are also open to considering a job share.
If you are a compassionate and skilled professional ready to make a tangible difference in people's lives, we encourage you to apply.
Additional benefits: 31 days pro rata plus Bank Holidays pro rata, Employee Assistance Programme, Employer pension contribution of 5%
