About the role
IT Manager
Oxfordshire South and Vale Citizens Advice, Citizens Advice Oxford, and Citizens Advice West Oxfordshire have recently merged to become Citizens Advice Oxfordshire. Each organisation currently has its own LAN and internet connection, and different systems for managing their individual networks and machines. We use Google Workspace across the organisation, and have a mix of windows PC’s, laptops and chrome books.
Citizens Advice Oxfordshire is looking for an IT professional to consolidate existing systems, and manage the IT infrastructure for over 400 users across 6 Oxfordshire sites and additional home workers. Working with National Citizens Advice IT Support, the Chief Executive Officer, Director of Operations and volunteer IT coordinators, you will develop and manage an IT and communications infrastructure that supports the operational needs of CAOX including client services, finance & admin, marketing communications and stakeholder management. With the Chief Executive Officer, develop and deliver an IT strategy.
Identify weaknesses/risks in current IT provision and recommend improvements where appropriate.
Bring together the different infrastructures that are currently in place to one managed network.
Implement and maintain Cyber Essentials Plus as a priority for CAOX.
Coordinate and support the work of existing volunteers and staff that support IT across the organisation Manage the work of external IT support companies Develop a common approach to hardware, software and procedures across all CAOX sites.
Assist with the training and support of users in the use of CAOX applications.
Ensure the smooth day to day running of the IT / Telecommunications service through the development of robust and up to date systems. Manage the CAOX website, and support others to make content changes.
Contribute to CAOX continuous efforts to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
Essential Person Specification
Demonstrated experience in managing IT infrastructure for a medium sized organisation
Ability to manage a varied workload, and adapt to changing priorities
Ability to communicate with users of all abilities
Ability to make site visits in a timely manner Desirable Experience of successfully applying for Cyber Essentials or Cyber Essentials Plus
Experience of managing Google Workspace Experience of managing/building a website
