Foodbank Support Worker

Could you help people facing financial hardship take positive steps forward?

Citizens Advice New Forest is looking for a compassionate Foodbank Support Worker to support people using foodbanks in Ringwood and Fordingbridge. The role focuses on providing practical advice for people experiencing financial hardship, including debt and benefits issues, and helping them access wider Citizens Advice services.

Working mainly through outreach sessions at local foodbanks, with some office and home working, we’re looking for someone with:

- Strong interpersonal skills, with empathy and ability to overcome barriers

- A person-centred approach, balancing compassion with empowerment

- Self-aware and professional, with clear boundaries and confidentiality

- Able to work independently in community settings

- Strong organisational and time-management skills, focused on positive outcomes

- Excellent communication, numeracy and IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Advice experience is desirable but not essential, if you have transferable skills and a willingness to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

Location: Ringwood Library with travel to Ringwood & Fordingbridge Foodbanks and some travel across the New Forest

Working Pattern: 10 hours per week

- Wednesday 9.30a.m – 2.30p.m

- Friday 9.30a.m – 2.30p.m
