Citizens Advice response to the BEIS Reforming competition and consumer policy consultation paper

Citizens Advice welcomes the opportunity to respond to the government’s consultation on Reforming competition and consumer policy. Our response sets out our support for measures to update consumer rights in specific markets, and strengthen consumer law enforcement so that the CMA can more effectively and efficiently tackle practices that cause consumer harm. We also outline where broader and bolder action is needed to meaningfully transform markets so they work for consumers.

Citizens Advice response to the FCA Consumer Duty consultation paper

Citizens Advice welcomes that the FCA is considering how to deliver a higher level of protection for consumers in financial services markets. Our response to the Consumer Duty consultation paper sets out our reflections on the consumer harms the Consumer Duty must seek to address, and provides further considerations for the FCA to ensure the intent behind the new Duty is delivered in practice.
