About the role

Purpose of the Role

To deliver high-quality energy advice and advocacy to individuals and households, particularly those vulnerable or experiencing fuel poverty. The role supports clients in reducing energy costs, improving home comfort, and lowering carbon emissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored energy advice via:

• Face-to-face appointments and Telephone

• Community events and workshops

• Support clients with:

• Understanding fuel tariffs and energy bills

• Improving energy efficiency and thermal comfort

• Accessing grants, rebates, and financial support

• Resolving issues with energy suppliers

• maintain accurate case records and report outcomes

• Meet project targets and comply with funder requirements, Build partnerships with local agencies and stakeholders

• Contribute to Citizens Advice’s research and campaigns

• Stay up to date with relevant legislation and policies

Person Specification

Essential:

• Experience in advice-giving or customer support (e.g., call centre, community outreach or within Citizens Advice)

• Ability to manage workload independently and meet targets

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

• Willingness to undertake NEA Level 3 Energy Awareness training

Desirable:

• NEA Level 3 or 4 qualifications in energy awareness or decarbonising homes

• Experience working with vulnerable communities

• Familiarity with Citizens Advice systems and values
