Salary: £28,900

Hours of work: 37 hours

Place of work: Stockton-on-Tees – Hybrid working considered after completion of training

Your Impact

As a Debt Caseworker, you’ll play a vital role in helping clients regain control of their finances. You’ll lead on the delivery of specialist debt advice, with a focus on Debt Relief Orders (DROs), ensuring clients receive accurate, empathetic, and solution-focused support. Your work will directly improve lives—and potentially change them.

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• At least 12 months' experience delivering debt advice.

• Hands-on experience with DRO applications.

• Either currently an Approved DRO Intermediary or able to qualify within 3 months.

Skills & Qualities

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

• A structured, meticulous approach to casework and procedures.

• Strong IT skills, including digital record-keeping.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Resilience, empathy, and a client-centred approach.

• Committed to equal opportunities and reflective practice.

• Knowledge

• Solid understanding of debt solutions and relevant legislation.

• Awareness of social trends affecting clients and services.

• Willingness to obtain a NACAB General Help Certificate (or equivalent) within 3 months—training provided.
