About the role
Chief Executive
North Tyneside Citizens Advice
North Shields, NE30 1ND
£65,000 – £75,000
Permanent, full time
North Tyneside Citizens Advice is one of the highest performing members of the national Citizens Advice network. Each year, the organisation supports over 38,000 people with nearly 191,000 issues, from debt and benefits to housing and employment, ensuring everyone has access to free, confidential and impartial advice.
Following the retirement of the long-serving CE, North Tyneside Citizens Advice is now seeking a values-led, forward-thinking Chief Executive to lead our next chapter. With a team of 70 paid staff, 30 volunteers and an annual turnover of £3.4m, this is a rare opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK’s leading local advice charities.
You'll oversee the delivery of the organisation’s strategy, maintain strong governance, and continue to build relationships across the borough and nationally, while maintaining ‘best in class’ service delivery.
To be successful, you will bring:
• Proven senior leadership experience in a complex, multi-channel organisation, ideally within the advice or wider charitable sector.
• A track record of strategic planning and operational delivery, with the ability to lead and inspire diverse teams of staff and volunteers.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience managing large, multi-funder budgets.
• Experience of successful income generation and fundraising through contracts, grants or partnerships.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to advocate for service users at local and national levels.
This is a pivotal role in ensuring North Tyneside Citizens Advice continues to meet the evolving needs of the community and remains a sector leader in innovation and impact.
