About the role

A generalist caseworker role delivering advice and casework on all advice areas, but with particular attention on Benefits and Debt/Money Advice. Providing support to the Core service, this role will be line managed by one of our experienced Supervisors. Based in Witney, the role may include visiting some clients at home across West Oxfordshire. Full training can/will be offered.

Provide advice and casework covering the full range of generalist advice areas, in particular Benefits and Debt/Money Advice Casework Prepare and present cases to the appropriate statutory bodies, tribunals and courts as appropriate and negotiate with third parties as appropriate.

Assist clients where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning.

Provide advice, support and assistance to other staff and volunteers across the range of advice areas.

Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate.

Maintain case records for the purposes of continuity of casework, information retrieval, and statistical monitoring and report preparation.

Ensure that all casework conforms to the organisations Office Manual and the Advice Quality Standard, the Financial Conduct Authority, and/or the specialist Quality Mark as appropriate.

Make home/outreach visits as necessary.

Hours: 18.5 per week (full time is 37 hours per week)

● Salary: £25,858 – £27,438. Per annum – Pro rata

● Pension: We offer an auto-enrolment workplace pension scheme, to which we will contribute 5% of your gross salary. Details will be provided on appointment.

● Holiday: 23 day pro rata ; plus Bank Holidays pro rata ( this is under review and is likely to increase)

● Other: A laptop will be provided along with any other essential equipment
