About the role
This is a part-time, 14-hour-per-week role worked over two agreed days, with a hybrid pattern combining home working, the Winsford Mind Hub, and our Winsford office. It is offered on a fixed term contract of 12 months.
We are collaborating with Mind to deliver a new community-focused project in Winsford. The Adviser will provide advice to local people struggling with their mental health, working from the Mind Hub for two sessions each week. Support will cover issues such as welfare benefits, debt, and wider challenges that affect financial stability and wellbeing. The aim is to offer accessible, stigma-free advice within a supportive mental health setting, recognising the close link between money worries and emotional health.
The role will suit someone with experience supporting vulnerable people and a strong commitment to empathetic, person-centred practice. Excellent communication skills, sensitivity to mental health issues, and the ability to build trust with clients are essential. The position also requires access to a vehicle as some clients may require home visits.
Citizens Advice Cheshire West is a well established local charity with over 100 staff and volunteers across the district. It is the area’s largest independent provider of general advice, offering free and impartial guidance on a broad range of issues. As an employer, the organisation promotes flexibility, provides 28 days’ annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays, and offers enhanced sick pay. Staff wellbeing is a priority, with access to coaching, mentoring, and additional support.
