About the role
Citizens Advice Brent is looking for an experienced and motivated Generalist Adviser to join our team.
Salary: £31,000–£33,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, full-time
Contract: Permanent
Closing date: 5pm, 2 October 2026
Interviews: Week commencing 12 October 2026
As a Generalist Adviser, you will provide free, accurate and effective advice and casework to Brent residents, helping people find practical solutions to the problems they face. You will deliver advice face-to-face, by telephone and through digital channels across areas including welfare benefits, debt, housing and employment.
You will assess clients’ needs, explore their options, undertake appropriate casework, support income maximisation and make referrals to specialist services where required.
We are looking for someone with experience of providing generalist advice and casework, excellent interviewing and communication skills, strong IT and digital skills, and the ability to work effectively with people who may be in vulnerable or challenging circumstances.
