About the role
Would you like to help people experiencing profound difficulties in managing their financial problems?
Citizens Advice New Forest has an opportunity for a Debt Adviser to join its debt advice team. The Debt Adviser will provide information and advice to people in the New Forest who are experiencing profound difficulties in managing their financial problems. The advice will primarily be given by telephone appointments, however advice can also be given face-to-face and by email. This project, which is funded through the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), has been created to meet the increased demand as people deal with the cost of living crisis with the objectives of improving their debt situation and their mental well being.
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Passionate about helping people across the New Forest struggling with debt;
- A good listener, able to understand an individual’s needs and come up with solutions that will help them get to grips with their finances;
- A great communicator, full of empathy and able to work with people struggling with their situation;
- A self-starter with a can-do attitude.
- This role would suit an individual with a debt advice background, however we would also be keen to hear from candidates who have transferable skills and that would be willing to undergo training in debt advice.
We will consider a fully remote position for the right applicant.
