Scams Awareness Campaign
Every year, we run our Scams Awareness campaign. In 2023, this took place over 2 weeks: 22-28 May and 3-9 July. The campaign aims to create a network of confident, alert consumers who know what to do when they spot a scam.
If you're looking for advice and support on scams please visit our online advice pages.
How can I support the campaign all year long?
Your efforts during the Scams Awareness campaign are important, whether you’re an individual looking to protect yourself and your family from scams, or an organisation or group representing consumers. But it’s important to be #ScamAware all year round.
Help us spread the message that scams are crimes that can happen to anyone and that we can all take a stand to help stop them. There are actions we can all take to report them, share stories and raise awareness of scams to safeguard ourselves and others.
Visit our resources page to download a range of materials and tools to help you get involved. These resources can be used all year long if they’re relevant to your audience. These include posters, leaflets and a social media pack.
If you'd like to be notified when new materials are available please sign up to the mailing list below.
Citizens Advice runs the Scams Awareness campaign in close collaboration with the Consumer Protection Partnership. This brings together key partners in the consumer landscape to identify, prioritise and coordinate collective action to tackle detriment.
Partners include Trading Standards service and the Department for Business and Trade (DBT).
