Citizens Advice’s annual Parcels League Table measures the top five delivery companies against four criteria: customer service, delivery, accessibility and trust. These are all rated out of five stars. You can read more on how the scores are worked out in our methodology document. 143 KB
Unfortunately, our evidence reveals people have not seen real improvement since we first published the league table in 2021, despite Ofcom strengthening guidance around complaints processes and accessibility in 2023. In the last 5 years:
The proportion of people who had a problem with their most recent delivery has never fallen below a third and this year’s rate of delivery problems is the highest we’ve seen.
Market improvements have been minimal, with the overall average score improving by just 0.35 of a star.
We see persistent disparities in the experiences of marginalised groups, including people from racially minoritised backgrounds, disabled people, people working irregular hours and those with caring responsibilities.
We’re now calling on Ofcom to proactively enforce its guidance. We also urge the regulator to subject all parcel companies to equal, stricter regulations.
