Response to ENA’s consultation on the Proposed Amendment to facilitate Plug-in Micro-generation

Citizens Advice supports the EREC G98 amendment to facilitate the adoption of plug-in micro-generators, aiming to increase the adoption of low-carbon tech. However,  there is a need for clear consumer safeguards. Key concerns include potential incompatibility with older home electrical systems, unexpected upgrade costs, insurance impacts, and the need for simple registration. We urge for accessible guidance, standardised product quality, and clear, transparent information at the point of sale.
