We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our growing organisation, The role of Macmillan Benefits Caseworker will involve:

  • Advising and assisting Macmillan clients to ensure they receive their full benefit entitlements and refer on for additional assistance where appropriate
  • Assisting clients in making benefit claims, including form-filling for disability benefits
  • Negotiation with the DWP/HMRC in relation to existing benefit claims
  • Maintaining and managing a client caseload
  • Support with challenging benefit decisions including appeals representation up to and including tribunal stage
  • Liaising with other Local Citizens Advice Offices, Macmillan Cancer support advisers, cancer nurse specialists and other partners to enhance the quality of service.
  • The successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving licence and be willing to work across East Lancashire
  • Completing face-to-face and telephone appointments with clients including outreaches in a Hospital Setting and Home Visits.
